How to Merge PDF Files
Merging PDFs is useful whenever several separate documents need to travel together: a job application, a set of invoices, or chapters of a report.
Step by step
- Open the PDF Merger and add all the files.
- Check the list: each entry shows its name and size.
- Move files up or down until the order is right — the first file becomes the first pages.
- Select Merge PDFs, then download the result.
Only need some pages?
Use the PDF Splitter first to extract just the pages you need from a long document, then merge the extracts.
When merging fails
The most common cause is a password-protected or encrypted PDF. Open it in the app that created it (or your bank's portal) and save an unprotected copy. Damaged downloads can also fail — try downloading the file again.
- Interactive form fields and bookmarks may not be preserved.
- Digital signatures become invalid once a document is changed, including by merging.
In short
Gather the files, set the order, merge — and remove passwords beforehand if a file refuses to load.
